FLEDGLING INVITE YOUR SUBMISSIONS FOR OUR FIRST POETRY ANTHOLOGY

We want to hear your yell, your yawl, your yawn ,your yearn!

Whether it's coming from under the carpets  crawling up the walls, walking on the ceiling, cubed up in a box or out there on the road.

We want your within on the without- the outside is your outside sucked back in.

You've been holed up in the catacombs for years.

This is your chance to let that gaping gawping rsonating 'CATERWAUL' out .

We want to represent the voices of those who struggle/or have struggled with mental illness in any form, those with addiction/ recovering/recovered addicts and those who feel at odds with the world.

We want you to bite at us with all the snappy , nippy things that make you tick or need to be exorcised.

We want to entice an audience who thinks Poetry is just for the stuffy and elitist and give them an experience that will put them in spin-cycle and have them coming out , excited, awe-inspired and liberated from seeing all that Poetry can really be.

If you've been to hell and back - we want to hear it

If you're still there - let us breathe it

Whatever state you are in we want to see it

WE ARE THE OPEN JAWS FROM WHICH YOUR WORDS WILL FALL.

*Fledgling would like to amplify the voices of writers with struggles, and to destigmatize mental health stereotypes. Open those catacombs up and tell things from your own mindset, putting your own and very individual stamp on our pages.

* We ultimately prefer 'Beat' Poetry, also experimental and freestyle, forms that break away from the past and the classic. We also prefer Poetry that isn't lengthy.

*Those who are not so interest in commercial success but merely want and need to get their words out there purely for the necessity that the Catharsis of Creativity provides are encouraged/preferred.

*Fledgling will not claim rights to your work as we believe that the work is and always will be inherently yours. We do ask that for 18 months you don't publish the particular work we are representing for you- but after that it's yours to do all the brilliant things you wish to!

* Any profit (which will be small) made will go into the Fledgling money-box for future Fledgling projects (as is the very nature of Fledgling) Please check our ethos if you are unfamiliar with it.

At this point, the submissions call is open, and will remain open until we close it. So submit now!
